They also like to talk to you on speaker phone which makes it difficult to hear at times and you feel as if they are yelling. Someone needs to tell them it is not the most professional way to conduct phone conversations. I chose Ms. Means' agency because she was a woman of color and I wanted to support her business. However, there are times when I feel as if this was not the best choice. I realize businesses have good days and bad days and should not be judged on a few sour experiences but those experiences are racking up and I would much rather provide support where it will be honored and appreciated. I too am a small business owner who understands the struggle but you have to put in the extra work and train people well so those sour experiences do not end up working against you. Don't slack ever, especially when business is good because what goes up will come down!! Hopefully, she or someone from her agency will see this post and use it as a form of constructive criticism for improvement. I have referred 2 customers who have had similar experiences, so this is not isolated but worth looking into.”

We showed up to drop off the keys for a closing later in the day only to find the office completely empty. Note all locations show their hours of operation as 8:30 to 5pm cst. We called the north Clark street location only to learn that they werent sure when anyone would be in that location. Note the keys were needed for a closing that very same morning, 2 hours later. We asked to speak to a manager, and, of course, they weren't in the office yet either. When our agent stopped by the office later in the morning to drop off the keys, he was greeted by an extremely rude and unprofessional female employee, that claimed they didn't hold keys (note, this was 30 min before the closing was scheduled). This was after the very friendly and professional employee at the 20 N. Clark street office told us they would be happy to the hold the keys at their location. The employee at the Irving Park/Ashland location clearly has no idea what she is talking about/doing. These people are disorganized, unprofessional, and sadly unavailable. We struggle to understand why an office exists on Ashland and Irving Park if there is not a single employee that actually works there / shows up when the office claims to be open. Will not recommend in the future.”

The man who helped me was very kind, and explained everything in detail. He was willing to test any gold jewelry I had even if it wasn't totally clear on whether or not it was real. I got a very good price for the rings! He explained to us the value of gold vs. silver and why we would've only gotten $10 or so had we not had any gold. I found another one later and wanted to come back since I had such a great experience and had a little more understanding of the value of metals. The ring I have appeared to be 18k and was stamped, so I wanted to have a professional opinion on it. The next time I came, there was a woman who seemed rather displeased upon seeing me. I showed her the ring and she looked at the stamp and said it was only worth $25 without testing the gold. I decided to keep the ring, but I'm disappointed since I had such a good experience the first time around. The woman seemed very annoyed at our presence overall, which was such a stark difference from our initial visit.”
