I have been a costumer 6 years. Never had problems. 2 months ago I lost employment and was getting all these overdraft fees ($25 each time) for Disney plus, Hulu, and one other item. I cancelled these memberships but for some reason I was still being overdrafted. So I owed $200 in just overdraft fees. Anyhow last month I received a call saying there has not been activity on my card in 53 days so they would be closing my account. I made arrangements and everything seemed fine. A $50 dollar deposit was made to my account, when I went to pull out the money my cards had been cancelled. Today (pay day) I log on to see what I made and there is no check. One customer service rep said she saw the payment but it was being held to call back later. Second rep says she can't find my check info. I'm frustrated because I don't have my money. If it comes in over the weekend I can't pull it out because they froze my cards and they are closed. This is so unacceptable. I've never had issues til recently. Also my mother passed 2months ago. I was a beneficiary on her account but rather than closing her account and giving me the $50 savings deposit they closed the account and mailed it.ok.... Well when the check came in the mail I mobile deposited it. Well a day later I look to see if it went through and it says it didn't. So I go to the bank to cash it. I'm told it can't be cashed because I don't have a representative. IT WAS $50!!! I did get angry at this point and am told I need a lawyer in order to cash the check. A little later I find the money was deposited. They don't know what their doing anymore! One person says one thing while another says something else. I can't wait to close this account. They are getting as bad as Wells Fargo.

Was very happy with the credit union until they decided to switch off my overdraft protection without notifying me. Now they're stacking insufficient funds charges and taking advantage of their customers. Also called this branch only for the lady to hang up on me.

      Response from the owner

Hi Justin, we appreciate you taking the time to reach out and let us know about this issue. We're so sorry to hear that you have had a recent bad experience, particularly after previously being satisfied with our service. BEWARE!! I went to close my checking account, which was attached to a savings account, which actually had $50 in it, which I never used. When the teller told me I would be getting back $11 and some change, I asked, is that all? She said yes. I told her that I opened with a $50 deposit, which was the savings. She said, oh that account was closed. I asked, who closed it? She said it was closed due to being dormant. Ok, well, where did the $50 go? I never got $50 dollars and they sure didn’t transfer to the checking. The point is, if I had $2,000 saved in the savings account, would they have closed it if I never made a withdrawal and just keep the $2,000? Something not right about this at all. I could care less about $50 but it is a matter of principal. BAD business practice!

      Response from the owner

Hi Kenn, thank you for giving us your feedback. You are correct that we do charge a fee on dormant accounts after more than a year, and we send out multiple letters alerting members of the fee before we being charging an account. However, after looking into it, it appears your notifications were returned to us with an invalid address. Since you had no way of knowing the account was dormant and would be accruing a fee, we can understand your frustration at learning about this after the fact. We recognize the importance of clear and timely communication and we would like to remedy this situation immediately. A senior representative will be contacting you this week to address this. Thank you again for reaching out and giving us the opportunity to rectify this lapse in our communication.

I've been a member since 1979 and only had a savings account as I was not been able to get a checking account. I went in yesterday to update our information as they had it wrong. Because of Erica Gonzales's great customer service & professionalism we opened a checking account and will do more of our banking business with them. Great job Ms. Gonzales!!!

I was having issues with the Real I.D act. My license was expired by 2days. I went to this branch beacuse I was doing a job in Santa Fe. I dont like to carry large amounts of cash while traveling. I stopped for cash to buy material. I stood in line, waited my turn gave the teller my account number and amount needed. She pulled the money, counted the money front of me, then told me I couldnt withdraw the cash because my license was expired! I was forced to use my credit card to purchase the material that day. I guess my picture on the computer screen wasnt good enough?

They burned me for my fifty dollar deposit and closed my account without even so much as sending me an email or giving me a phone call. Said it was due to "inactive account", I had called them and asked if there were any penalties for an inactive account and was told "no" not to worry about it. The manager didn't seem care at all that I had lost my deposit and refused to tell me what happened to it..

Awful ......we have been with secu for too long. 15+ years...we have more than 10 accounts between the family. Their website is always down , and even if you have bills that are set up to pay you are out of luck. So if their websites down you can't make changes, so they don't pay the bills and slap you with insufficient funds fees . And if your accounts compromised forget it, you are out of luck they won't help you. I recomend nusenda...stay away from secu unless you like being frustrated and broke!!!

      Response from the owner

Hi Alexx, thanks for working with us last week to get this situation sorted out. We attempted to follow up Thursday but we were unable to reach you. As you know we never wish for our members to have a bad experience. If there is anything else we can do to assist you please let us know. Thanks for being a member.
