Have had an account in good standing for 20 years and have provided extensive notes as to my travel and places I need to do transactions over and over again, yet they keep leaving me stranded without funds all weekend until they reopen again on Monday, because they keep denying my transactions. At what point are you going to know me as a customer and meet my needs? After 20 years this should not be happening!! The last 10 years have been a steady decline so I can't imagine you being in business another seven years.

      Response from the owner

Whenever we're notified of travel plans, our system is updated to allow transactions as requested. We can set up more permanent notifications for members who travel frequently. If you'd like to work with our card department to get this resolved, please email [email protected] or call 314.264.5250.

I am very displeased with this institution’s services. I banked here for a few years, but never used them as much as other banks because their technology is so archaic. Their app was very old, and didn’t seem secure. I also didn’t like not having the option to lock my card as you do with some credit and debit cards. When I closed my account I told the teller this and he acted like he never heard of this feature. Sweetie, it’s 2022, get with the times. Also, their opening and closing times are annoying, they open late and seem to close early. I hate how they remodeled the bank and how there is usually only one teller available. I highly doubt I will ever bank here again.

Poor customer service. I am happy that since I have paid my car off now, I no longer have to deal with Vantage Credit Union. Half the time, the customer service representatives you get when you call in are rude, or give you wrong information. Just trying to get a simple matter handled is usually cumbersome and a pain, as you get continually transferred to different departments in order to get even a simple matter resolved. It can be very time consuming to finally get routed to a department that can assist, and when you make a complaint about being given poor customer service, Vantage Credit Union seems to be unwilling to take any responsibility about it. Just to clarify, this review pertains to Vantage Credit Unions phone center representatives, not a particular location. I did not see a place to review their call center, and when you call in, you get transferred to different locations anyway, when you call their general customer service number. This seemed like the best place to review Vantage Credit Union's customer service, as the call center covers multiple locations.

      Response from the owner

We appreciate your feedback on our contact center representatives and will be sure to share it with their leadership team so it can be addressed.

Vantage bank as a whole is the worst bank. How do you charge 20 percent for counting coins for non bank members but can’t reopen my account without a credit check. Horrible experience. Then won’t let u get out more than $500 a day. Then overdraft fees. Terrible.

      Response from the owner

Thank you for your feedback and the opportunity to address your concerns. Coin machines are offered for our members' use and benefit at no cost. They do require regular maintenance and service which is why we charge non-members for using them. Reopening an account is similar to opening a new account and does involve a credit check. We don't limit how much of your money you can access per day unless it is through an ATM to help members avoid being victims of fraudulent transactions. And, yes, if you overdraw an account there are possible fees involved. We're happy to work with any member who would like to avoid fees to find possible ways of doing so.

Been banking there for a couple of years. Their getting worse all the time. Poorly staffed, slower than molasses. Folks attempting to open a new account will find every time the rep needs to print a document he must walk down the hall 30-40 ft away. Apparently can't have a printer at his own desk. Latest debacle was I deposited a 2nd party check made payable to a family member with the same address (and last name) as mine. Their now in process of mailing check back. Yes we both had signed it. They didn't bother to call or email me. So sad! Now their saying he's got to come in with extensive ID before they'll allow a deposit into my account. WOW! Incredible.

      Response from the owner

Sorry to hear about your experience. We apologize that the check didn't get caught when you first made the deposit. Appreciate your taking the time to let us know.

I would normally give this branch 5 stars but lately it has gone down hill. I used to have no problems coming here, but the last month or so it seems like I keep getting employees who don't know how to count or follow what you fill out on the deposit slips. Why hire people who don't know how to count...at a BANK?! The older woman who used to work the drive through was awesome, no complaints, but now there is a younger woman there and she has messed something up in one way or another, I believe her name starts with a W. Please Vantage, I love this bank, I haven't had issues with anybody there up until now, put someone who pays attention to detail and can count in the drive through. It's just stupid mistakes that keep being made and it could be avoided.

I've been a member for over 30 years, but I will be making other financial arrangements as soon as possible. Starting last spring, without fanfare and with minimal effort to notify, they began charging a $5 per month fee if you don't have loans and deposits of at least $3K. VCU only pays 0.050% interest on savings accounts, so I do most of my saving elsewhere and I don't have any loans. As previously stated, I will be leaving ASAP. Anxious to get my $5 membership fee back from 30 years ago, without interest of course. Note: the username shown is not my name, my real name is Richard Moore.

      Response from the owner

Sorry to hear that you are wanting to close you long-term membership. If you would like to keep your membership and avoid the fee, you could simply close your checking account. Or, if you were to put some of your savings into a CD with a little higher rate, you could avoid the fee as well. Please reach out if you have any questions.

Lately it has been very difficult to even make simple stops through the ATM there. It isn't so much traffic as constant maintenance on the machine which requires me to go to a teller at the window. Unfortunately, there is typically 1 teller for every 10 customers. I am currently looking for a new place to do my banking because of the lack of customer service.

Been with Vantage for years and never an issue that wasn't resolved quickly. They do a great job identifying fraudulent charges and are very proactive in their approach. I continue to be a happy member.

      Response from the owner

We appreciate having you as a member! Thank you.
