      This place is forthright, helpful, and will accomplish what you need if you find yourself in more debt than you know how to handle. They work by negotiating lower APRs, thereby giving you the tool to get out of the financial hole without the cons of bankruptcy. We're finally recovering (not just making minimum payments) from all the debt incurred from a cross-country move for school, the hospital bills from our firstborn, unexpected unemployment for half a year, and the usual emergencies we couldn't save up for because credit cards milked us for every spare cent.

      The people at Take Charge America have been amazing! They truly care about those they are helping and they are the easiest to work with. No one is more accessible and they will always call you back. I am coming to an end of paying off more than $13,000 in credit card debt and total a debt of $35,000 in the last 2 and 1/2 years. I could not have done this without their help. I have a few more months left and I will be free. A huge Thank You to all the men and women at Take Charge America!

      I worked for them for seven years in IT department and until change in management it was a great place to work. As far as their business offering I would say from what I saw they offered great customer service and really cared about the customers. Not sure now a days how it is.i do know it's under complete new management, but if they are running under the same principals I would recommend them.

      Until today, my estimation of TCA has been wonderful. They've helped me pay off my debt in the past, and I am now utilizing them yet again. My fault that I am in need of their services again, but that's neither here nor there. My faith in their abilities was vastly diminished today sadly, since they not only talked down to me, but made me feel as though their shortcomings were somehow my fault. I guess I asked too much to be kept in the loop on what was happening with the creditors I asked them to help me with. I had to again call, during my work hours, to get them an account # which I provided them with more than a week ago. It was their error, and even though they ended up admitting that, I was still made to feel as though I was somehow to blame for their error. Since I have already started my dealings with them I will now see them through, but my estimation of their company has been cut at least in half by their unfair treatment, especially when I got them the info they needed the same day I began working with them. I am far less tempted to sing their praises when I am so wrongly dealt with. Hopefully they redeem themselves accordingly. *UPDATE* I've reassessed my review of TCA in light of recent developments. Chris Morris, TCA's Compliance & Communications Specialist, reached out to me regarding my less than fortunate dealings with TCA recently. He did everything in his power to make sure TCA met my expectations, and made up for any and all misgivings. I now have faith that TCA will hold up their end of the dealings, and help me with any apprehensions I may have in the future. Thank you Chris! You are what a professional employee should be, and what a customer service person need to be.

      Truly a great experience. I used them to consolidate my student loans and put them on income based repayment plan. I also refer my clients to them for their home-buyer education course that is required for some down-payment assistance programs. Great price and service. I love keeping money local and especially to non-profits.

      Super helpful. Affordable monthly payments. They send me monthly statements about how my money is getting distributed. They take a $14 fee included in my total for my $127.65 a month to handle everything. Some people mind but I don't. Paying $14 to have less stress is worth it. They are actual counselors, not just people who take your money. I had a debt collection agency try to take everything I owe from my bank account around tax return season thinking they could catch me with extra money (they only got $1.12 bc I am paying stuff off and have every dollar assigned to somewhere, a-holes, ha!). Even though the debt collectors trying to take my money said setting up a plan through tca wouldn't stop them from attempting that again (my bank said they could only do it once though), the counselors added that account so they would at least be getting something and it's way less than they wanted but it's gotten them off my ass. Some is better than none and don't let people intimidate you about it and tell you differently. Collectors will say anything to try to get their money faster but if you don't have it, you can only give them what you can when you can. The tca counselor talked me through it when I was getting upset and told me I am working at it and actually taking control so don't let it get to me. That's amazing in my book.

      They will pay your bills but little of it and keep the rest . More them they say they are on the paperwork. And say they will work with you on all your bills then don't and the 90 days is not true for payback. They put me behind more and it was just two weeks. Because they can't call you to let you know after they said they will help that now they are not willing to pay a loan and never call to tell you when you have your loan calling you about where is their payment. Yea, I got myself in bills but I see help is not here . I'm going to stay with this place if you are trying to make more money of me them pay my bills and take longer. These days it's people out for themself now. So don't get help from one your don't know. False advertisement.......
