Greater Nevada Credit Union U.s. Hwy, Minden

GNCU used to be the best bank around many years ago. Lately, it is nothing but problems. They used to pay great interest on our checking account, but now they pay nothing. Our cards are always locked for stupid stuff like a 100$ Home Depot purchase, but then I had 1700$ in Lyft charges and that didn’t alarm them. They have changed our online username without telling us. You can’t lock your card online. You can’t set up Apple Pay without calling them. I always try to support smaller businesses, but we will be closing our acct and going to a bigger bank with easier online services.

I’ve been with greater Nevada since 2018 and I have had nothing but problems with my bank the last two years. My card keeps locking and no one has an answer. Online banking with them is the worst, they seem to delete usernames and passwords after they have been set by the customers.

Convenient location, friendly staff, helped my boyfriend unfreeze his account awhile we were traveling.

I would like to give a shout out to Kayla! We just moved into the area and came into the Minden Branch to open my account. Kayla A. was super nice, welcoming and friendly. She handled all of our transactions in a professional manner yet, with a smile and a welcoming spirit. Thank you Kayla! I am sure to recommend Greater Nevada Credit Union of others. Especially the Minden branch.

OMG the lack of training for anything other that cashing checks is apparent when trying to open an account. After standing for 2 hours trying to get something done they (took 2 people) finally got the account almost open, really???? Go someplace else that knows what they are doing.

Wow! Yet again Greater Nevada Credit Union proves why I have all of my business and personal accounts! Holey Moley! I just wanted to give Valerie Shaw as hug but.. you know.. cant' because of COVID. She made the whole process of opening my business account feel like visiting an old friend. This is how banking should be done -- one person -- not an account number -- at a time! Feel the appreciation Valerie! You rock!!!

Some things are great, but they fail on their online account stuff compared to other banks. They expect me to make an appointment in person to set up an IRA transfer when other places I can do it all online.

In person service is courteous and polite. The in-company telephone system sucks---hard! Their operators cannot hear, nor can the customers. Obtaining a branch manager is impossible. Their personnel cannot divulge a manager's name. They cannot give out a branches telephone number. Much streamline work is needed. This has happened for a long period of time. They are a multi million/billion dollar company. At least, get a better working telephone system and adjust your policy on branch telephone numbers.

Greater Nevada Credit Union is a shared branch Institution with my credit union. Due to my new work situation, I don't go near my branch anymore, but now I can post my deposits here!

Customer service tends to be crass and management is clearly lacking for the front desk. Also not a single male employee on site either in customer service or management which is odd. The banking app for android is absolutely lacking in features and commonly produces errors which is also disappointing.
