      1 star is honestly too much. Go to other banks. They treat you horribly here and Lindsay, specifically, is one of the worst customer service individuals I've ever had the misfortune of dealing with. She clearly hates her job and has no issue treating you like garbage. There are better banks out there, that don't treat you as poorly as this place has treated me.

      A long time ago Great basin used to be a fantastic institution. Sadly in the last 3 to 4 years place is gone so far downhill it's below sea level. The employees are unhelpful and generally seem to be too busy to even speak with you. It's disappointing to say the least.

      It was inconvenient for me to pay for items with my credit card, that was supposedly activated 3 weeks ago. I’m currently overseas and my partner has a credit card that works. What’s worse is the on line teller indicated to me that the card was “good to go” today, after a lengthy snotty response from the teller. Right now I’m extremely disappointed in GBCU and would not recommend this bank to anyone.

      I was very impressed by this branch for awhile, until they decided to close my account, without warning, for ONE missed payment. I wanted to use them for my primary banking but I've had a better experience with Wells Fargo.

      Nice employees, but TERRIBLE place to bank. ZERO after-hours customer service and they will decline every single EMERGENCY small loan request....you could be losing a limb and need emergency surgery, but they're like, "Ohhhh, we're so sorry to hear that.........DECLINED!" I have two credit accounts with them that I have NEVER paid late on, yet they still decline my loan requests. At one point, they said I needed a co-signer...then, they said I basically needed a co-signer for my co-signer (what???)...then they STILL denied me, even though one of the applicants had an almost 700 fico and the other one was well OVER 700. This place is a JOKE....

      We were at the virtual teller before noon on Saturday and they closed the teller before they helped us. Terrible customer service.

      This is the best credit union ever, with amazing employees. Whenever i call, they are super friendly. It's like having a friend in banking. The worst credit union is United Federal I used to have a savings account there. However, I was greatly annoyed by the $7.00 inactivity fee. How can anyone SAVE money if you are taking away $7.00? I called on 03/31/20 to object to the fee and I asked to have it reversed. I spoke to Kelly. Kelly seemed not to be in a good mood. She was a little testy. She did reverse the fee (2x) which was what I wanted. But then she informed me that I would not be able to have the fee reversed in the future. How silly is this? Save your money with us and watch it disappear! On 4/1/20 we went to our local branch and closed the account. Then we drove to Great Basin Credit Union and deposited it there.

      Never a person to speak with only a voicemail with no return call. Impossible to make any progress or get answers. Also, they leave a message to call them back and never answer that line either.

      Always great service over the phone and in store. Ive applied for a loan and have been a bit pushy to get it complete before the holiday, and I’ve never had such a great credit union be so on top of everything and I’ve used just about everyone available in southern and northern Nevada. Everyone that works there is competent and intelligent and knows how to provide great customer service. As someone who also provides financing options, they do an amazing job walking you through the process and giving very competitive rates!

      Individual attention is superb. I will note that if you want to open a new account, please get there before 4 pm. I use the South Virginia Branch. One day, years ago, the website wouldn't let me in and I needed to transfer some money after hours so that the checks I had written would not bounce. I went to the branch, slid a note under the door with what I needed, and got a call first thing in the morning to take care of it. That's customer service! (But their CD rates are terrible at the moment!)
