    Stopped by to get a watch battery replaced for $7 (nearly a third of the cost of other places). Milton didn't have the battery in stock, but he did tell me that if I get a battery he will install it at no cost. While I was there, I paroosed their merchandise. Nearly everything was a bargain. Great staff, great prices, and superior service. This place is worth checking out. THANKS MILTON!

    I would never recommend this bank to anyone. They can’t always deposit your checks even if you have enough money in your accounts to cover them, sometimes when I deposit a check they don’t even deposit it into the correct account so I have to keep a close eye on every transaction. On top of all this, the Newport branch is unbelievably slow and incapable. I could go on and on about every inconvenience even though my husband has had accounts here his whole life. They have harassed him in the past about something as small as a $25,000 auto loan when his income at the time was well over $100,000. Coming from someone with a large business and multiple investment properties to deal with, this is not a great bank to use. My husband and I are forced to close out our accounts because we need a bank that is able to work with us on these simple tasks and while I am closing my accounts, I can hear one of the employees in the other room saying “good let her take her money” and laughing. So it would seem they are not looking to keep members or acquire new ones anyway. Zero stars would be the appropriate rating for this bank.

    Frazzled teller made inappropriate comment as I was transferring funds between accounts "haha what? Paying your insurance?" I've been coming here for seven years, opened my account at this location and I am private person. I don't idle and chat with tellers or disclose anything other than what task I need from the bank. I told her that it wasn't her business and completely inappropriate to make a comment like that. Maybe if you had more than one teller working the front desk, they wouldn't get overworked and make annoying comments.

    I was referred to Peoples Credit Union after our first year in business and at first we were very excited to open our first business checking account with Peoples Credit Union. After over two years of being with Peoples and dealing with the awful hours of operations, unhappy staff, outdated atm machines and mobile banking services and support that did not work properly we came to the conclusion that this bank is not working out. During this epidemic of Covid-19 most businesses and banks are trying to take the right precautions and sefety measures so that they can open their doors for customers/clients. The Peoples Credit Union branch In Portsmouth and other locations that I am aware of are one of the only banks that are not allowing customers to come inside even with an appointment. So far they will only talk with us over the phone or through the drive through. This lack of effort and interaction seems like an excuse to not have to deal with people Therefore, We have no other choice but to close our business account and start fresh with a new bank. They could not help us at all financialy. Any time we wanted to sit down and discuss options in the past we felt rushed out the door with know answers. Recently we tried to make an appointmnet to sit down and talk with the bank manager. They gave us a card at the drive through and told us to call first thing in the morning. It took till 3:00 pm for her to finally get on the phone with one of us only to tell me " sir can I please call you back in 10 min I have another customer I need to take care of" we did not hear back from her for another two days which then was a mid saturday afternoon unexpectedly. She must have forgoten about us or put us on the bottom of her important list because last I checked I thought We were customer's just like everyone else. We our very unhappy with this branch and disapointed in Peoples Credit Union. We were hoping for more options and customer support. Instead we recieved a regection phone call for a business line of credit for a small amount $5000 not $50,000 - but $5000 to allow a little breathing room for the business and a little peace of mind for our family. The call lasted a total of 3 min and know other alternative options were brought to our attention. We were told you can always try again in another 6 months to a year. Thats what we get for putting our trust in a credit union and working 10-12 hr days to make ends meet. Thanks Peoples!! We really appreciate all the help!!! We hope this review helps someone before they make the same mistake we did. Find a bank that will work for you not against you. Best Regards, JK

    Thankfully I was referred to Dan Baruti of Pilgrim Title as my closing attorney. Dan went to great lengths to assure my problematic closing was completed accurately, legally and professionally. Obtaining Title insurance is extremely important. Most closings close without a hitch but if serious problems arise, you need a knowledgeable, professional closing attorney with an authentic desire to serve the client. Dan was all that and more. I am grateful for his service.

    First! I must say. I ‘ve never have visited PGE CREDIT UNION. And I do not reside in N.Carolina. But I Am a STATE Retired Employee, in Massachusetts.. And pay 💰 my Union Dues 2-3 years in advance. Why??? Can’t I be “ENROLLED” in PGE Federal & State CREDIT UNION?? Furthermore, I made contacted/spoke! With the Retired State County AND Municipal Association., Boston , Mass. And Was Told: They have NO! Credit Union???

    So far so good, got a car finance there and although i knew the interest rate would be higher due to no credit at all to bad credit they did finance me. There a new customer service people there that are friendly also. Never had to deal with the other people and hoping i never have to. If my car brakes i fix it myself. I got a question. Why are people asking these guys to fix your car? That's the dealership's job. And once your warranty is over it's over. These people just handle the finances. Anyway, just remember they're there ti make money like everyone else. If your credit is bad your choices are limited.
