For some reason (during the pandemic) they decided not to pay our real estate taxes in the fall of 2020 and neglected to notify us. In the past they have sent escrow shortage notices (seven times in fact) if the money was not sufficient to cover our obligations but not this time. Moreover, I always send 10% more than the minimum payment because our real estate taxes in Missoula tend to go up every cycle. Not only did they not notify us that they did not make the payment, the first I even heard of the delinquency was 8 months later when the county issued a tax lien. The extra money? Applied to principal. When I called to ask why they applied the money to principal and ignored the real estate taxes I was told that the taxes and insurance were my responsibility despite me paying them a monthly fee to handle that for me. Clearly they do not comprehend the fiduciary obligations to which they are entrusted so if you want escrow services, keep looking; Stewart Title doesn't understand the concept.”

The staff, whose hands are tied by the companies policies, are wholly unhelpful. Again, blaming the company, not the people that work there. We had savings accounts, checking accounts and loans with this company and the complete and utter nonsense that we have had to deal with had only increased. Take my advice and put your money elsewhere. After 20+ years we are leaving and could not be paid to take our business back to them.”

I have great credit (750ish) but my debt to income was making it difficult for me to get a small car loan ($3500) at a local credit union. The loan counselor was very curt, it felt like I was wasting her time. Not only did they want some pretty crazy things from me including speaking to my employer and obtaining a spare key to the car (which wasn't possible since it only had one electronic key... she wasn't happy about that) but when they did 'approve' the loan they wanted to give me a 34% interest rate which they weren't going to tell me until i came in an signed the paper. Luckily I asked... I definitely would not entertain the idea of working with this company. Maybe others have had a better experience but honestly I felt like a criminal who they were giving a 'second chance' to but they didn't really trust me.”

The lack of urgency, empathy, and the inability to delegate essential tasks during our home loan financing process has been nothing short of shocking. There have been numerous miscommunications between departments within Stockman Bank that caused us to push back our closing date have cost us thousands of dollars. We have been "under contract" for more than 50 days. The customer service from the loan officer has been abysmal and the lack of initiative to fix the situation that they have caused is nonexistent. I would absolutely not recommend using this bank as a home loan lender.”
