Tower Loan Penn Ter, Columbia

At first, when getting loans at this company years back I did not have a pleasant interaction with the manager at the time. I heard there was a new manager at Tower Loan and every since they have been beyond exceptional in their service. Umberto gets the job done, he always answers my questions and cares about his customers. The other staff are also very friendly. I’m looking at a way nicer credit score because of Tower Loan. :)

I purchased a stove from a local appliance store that gave a 0% financing incentive. It turned out that tower loan would be providing the financing. They have contacted me at least several times asking whether I would like more cash for various purposes, and every time I tell them to take me off their call list. They continue to call me, despite my repeated requests to be taken off of their marketing list. Additionally, they have told me that there are no notes on my account indicating my request to not receive telephone calls from them. I will not be using this company for any financing in the future, even if it is 0%. If they can't be trusted to keep track of who doesn't want phone calls, they can't be trusted to keep track of money. Update: After paying off the loan early, they still haven't sent me documentation saying my loan is paid in full. I called them several weeks after paying it off, and they said they would send me something saying I was paid in full. Its been a week or so, and I haven't received payoff documentation.

I applied for a loan at this location and the manager Mr. Hair approved my loan! I’ve never done business with Tower Loan before, but the application process was a breeze, and James was so nice! I read the views, and I’m beside myself because I don’t see how anyone could have something negative to say? He explained everything to me in detail, and made sure that I was happy with my loan. I guess it goes to show, only the people with issues leave reviews! So hopefully this will serve someone right! Tower Loan was right there when I needed them. Thank you Mr. Hair, and staff! Lisa

Shady. I got a loan for some furniture. 0% interest. I sent a large check and paid off the full amount. After a couple months I got a call saying they noticed I hadn't made a payment. I told them I had sent a check and it was paid off. After a week of investigating, and me calling them back, they said they applied it to someone else's account. They told me I would get a statement claiming it was paid off. Never got it and now someone keeps calling me trying to promote and get me to borrow more money. All these bad reviews should file a report with the attorney general's office.

SCAM!!!!! The loan company negligently violated the Telephone Consumer Protection Act and two, the company knowingly and willingly violated the law. This is the worst experience of my life. UmBurto, Jake Dorty, Metao, Michael, and John are the worst people I have ever dealt with. This company is out to scam people, and when I asked for a corporate number to reach someone to help, John gave me a phone number to McDonald's. This company should be shut down. This company sent out a check to an address I haven’t lived at since 2013 and said someone else cashed it, and that I’m liable for the amount. I called the regional manager Jake Dorty after this company called me 8 times in a row in the middle of my work day, he didn’t answer nor call me back after I’d left him a voicemail. So I called the corporate office, ten minutes after that he called me back and told me he was a very busy man and didn’t have time for this. These guys don’t have an education in the finance field or customer service. Jake Dorty the regional manager has shady business practices, and isn’t trustworthy. This company should reevaluate its employees.

I applied for a loan and they hit my fiance's credit without permission as well! They "dont know " how it happened since they dont have his information. All we were told was that he has to dispute it on his own...thanks Towerloan...you are a spider in a web selling lies to people in need and taking advantage.

Where to start, my husband and I have done business with Tower Loans in Columbia many many times and we have always paid on time never any issues. UNTIL 8.25.17 my husband went in to pay off account that was only in my name this time but we were paying the account off. We made purchase through FFO and did financing for a 0% interest rate, which was approved through Tower Loans. When my husband came in to pay off the account. It was told to him that they needed to speak to me first. Prior to contacting me James told my husband that he HIGHLY suggest that we not pay off the account since it is a 0% interest rate and this would help with my credit with yes it true. Well when James called he stated as he told my husband "I HIGHLY suggest you not pay this off" I asked James to speak to my husband again. Confirmed we were paying loan off. I then spoke to front gal and gave her permission that my husband could make payment to pay off. When my husband came home he stated after I got off phone James was really upset that we were paying loan off and got so upset that he walked to back of building. So I didn't feel that is was professional to be so NOT willing to allow us to pay off our loan. Also James made remark that how does he know it will clear out bank. Because James was being a again UNPROFESSIONAL so called manager, I husband which he did not have to, pulled up our account to show we had money in there. I called to talk to supervisor was told supervisor would be in on Tuesday 8.29.17 I provided contact info & was told I would get a call. No call came I called asked for supervisor was asked who I was I provided name. Then when I thought I was being sent to supervisor. James picks up and tries to tell me that he did my husband favor by allowing him to pay off our debt via card and that they truly shouldn't do that, and didn't understand what the issues was. I asked lets see 6 times to speak to the supervisor. James stated he was trying to resolve the issue since it was with him vs. talking to his supervisor. I told him okay this is the issue "let me talk to your supervisor" he said well that is not a issue click puts me on hold. I then talk to apparently supervisor Glen and tell him what is going on and in mist of our conversation Glen said he was still trying to wrap his head around what the issue was. All I could do was SMH. I WILL NO LONGER DO BUSINESS WITH TOWER LOANS COLUMBIA MO. I am also going to go to corporate about this as well. No I will get nothing out of this and I am not looking for anything. I just feel the unprofessionalism is sick when it comes to that branch.

Used them by default through some furniture store. Everything was typical until I went in to pay off remaining balance. I was still in the interest free period. An employee who seemed like a manager type tried to give me the most bizarre advice. “You really shouldn’t pay off the ENTIRE amount. You should leave one penny until just before grace cutoff. This will look better on your credit.”🤔 I thought he was joking at first. He was not. So yeah, I decided to decline and pay off in full rather than forget to pay a penny and then get hit with all of the interest. What a crook. I wonder if anyone has actually fallen for this. Now they call me randomly asking if I want a loan even thought I have told them not to. I guess I’d better make this one star. Edit: I just read the other reviews that highlight the large manager guy’s brilliant credit counseling advice. You should be ashamed of yourself, sir. If you need to use tactics like these, you’re in the wrong line of work.

Paid this off in a few months due to how rude this company and their employees are. This company does not: - Send out bills - Send your receipts for paying - Does not take card in store. - Takes card over the phone and charges you for doing so. The communication is beyond terrible and Dylan needs to learn how to speak to customers. Will never suggest this company to someone!

No stars if I could. Please if you have any respect for yourself don't go there. You can find a better way. This business should not be legal. They will basically rob you of your hard earned money and smile a fake smile in your face while they are bragging about how much they get paid to do it. Just plain robbery with a smile. I was just stupid and I thought measures had been taken to make sure loan companies didn't do this kind of thing to people anymore but I was wrong. Hopefully they won't be in business for long. Check the complaints with all the different agencies about this business before you go to them please.
