      I have been using Smart Card Merchant Services for credit card processing for my retail business for over a year. They are an outstanding company. When I was researching potential credit card processors, my experience with Smart Card was the complete opposite of my experience with the other 3 or 4 companies I looked at closely and with my previous credit card processing company. They were up front with all of the information I needed to make an informed decision, and they explained things in a way that made sense. Each month my statements are clear and understandable unlike my old processing company. I have been extremely satisfied with their service. In addition to everything being exactly as promised when I signed up, they are very helpful whenever I have a question or need help with something, which is not often because everything works so smoothly and logically. My questions usually revolve around the amazing demographic information I receive each month which is something that is extremely useful to a small retail business that is trying to compete in a large market. I highly recommend Smart Card Merchant Services, and I am very grateful that I found them. Definitely a 5 star company and will definitely add to your bottom line.

      I set up to meet with them initially but after a bit of research I felt that I may have been misled and that SCMS wasn't the best company to support my wife's business. I cancelled our appointment via email and ask that they not call me as my wife was not interested, regardless if they could save her money. The next day I got a call from a very pushy sales rep (same as before) not wanting to take no for an answer. I told her not to call again but she kept calling. I blocked her numbers and sent another email telling her not to call ever and that her numbers had been blocked. A while later I got another call from an unknown number from the same rep. I had a heated discussion as to why she insisted to keep calling If we were not interested. I think/hope that I finally got her to realize that we were not in any way going to use SCMS's and that our business was not a potential customer for them. If they are this pushy to get an appointment to discuss their offerings, I can only guess what they would be like if they got their foot in the door at an appointment. My guess is that the caller got a commission if she got us to make and keep an appointment, otherwise why so aggressive! I saw a review somewhere where a customer felt pushed into signing with this or a company with the same/similar name and later regretted it as their services were not so great and they felt that they were lied to and overly pushed. I only give them one star so that others might view this review, otherwise I believe 0 star is adequate based on their pushy behavior.. Be weary and on your guard if you choose to deal with this company! Be prepared to be strong if you want to "say no"!

      I am giving this a 5 star review, not because I decided to use the service, but because I liked the customer service experience. I was contacted a week ago for their service and set up a meeting. I went over my concerns with the person who called via phone and email several times and she (Rachel Knittle) was so nice to have done the best she could to address my concerns prior to the meeting. Then I sat in the meeting with Jeff Steiner. He too addressed ALL of my concerns in a very professional and honest manner. I've read many of the reviews and have not doubt about the pushy tactics that some have experienced. However, I am glad I sat with them because I was able to make a very informed decision. I would still recommend this company to others, especially if they get to work with individuals like Rachel and Jeff. Thanks.

      Sales rep made promises to cancel our existing contracts and leases with a different processor if we switched over to them. They could not follow through with their promises and they will not cancel their contract. Now I am locked into 2 contracts and leases for 2 separate processing machines. Their customer service is a joke. You call in and they give you "direct lines" to call but there is no one there to answer and no way to leave a message. Do not trust this company, it could cost you a lot of money and aggravation for years to come.

      So my only experience with this company is that I received a call from a person identifying themselves as "Emily" to "notify me that my company has been flagged as a low risk and now qualifies to run cards at the interchange level which carried with it a discount of around 40% off the retail rates." I felt the caller was pretty ambiguous as to whether I was already associated with them or was this a sales call? She responded by saying this wasn't a sales call and proceeded to try and book an appointment with me at least twice but maybe three times during the call. Upon my final polite notification of saying "thank you, I think we're all set here - we're going to pass." She said nothing and disconnected the call. All in all, not a positive experience, I didn't feel I could trust what she was telling me and it seemed as though the conversation was laden with terminology designed to sound official and confusing so that I could actually never ascertain what the purpose was to even decide if a meeting was warranted or desired.

      I have been very happy with smart card merchant services. I see a decrease in my bill from my previous processor. I recommend them over all the other ones. Don't mind paying the lease they upgrade everything free and don't complain if they need to replace the terminal they just do it. Plus I get free paper and they answer when I call. What more can you expect from a credit card processor.

      Ruthless group to force a meeting on you. Would not take no for an answer during 20 minutes of saying no. I don't like to hang up on people but was real close. I can only imagine how they would be once they signed you on. Won't answer any basic merchant questions over the phone. Love all the reviews that are obviously from their employees - vague with nothing concrete. I feel for the folks that get them in their call database. good luck!!

      I can't get these people to stop calling me, no less than 4 conversations with them in the past 2 weeks, and many calls placed to me yet they hang up after I answer, Assume auto dialed of sorts. I've requested 3 times now for them to stop calling. i have no interest in doing business with me as they lied to me in my 1st conversation. They are very misleading in hopes to acquire your merchant account processing.

      I usually get 30 phone calls a month for credit card processing. This company takes the cake. If looks like the positive review they have on google have been acquired from individuals who are connect with the company. Really high pressure tactics. They pretend that they have no intention in selling you anything and will pressure to meet with one of their specialist who will show you where you are loosing, when in fact is it just another excuse to waste 20 minutes of ones time to hear a sales ptich from this vendor. JUST HANG UP WHEN THEY CALL!

      The salesman lied to me about the rates. I was promised about 2%, but ended up being charged 3.28%. When I tried to get this fixed, promises were made to lower the rates to what was promised and refund the overcharges, but never followed through on, despite hours trying to this correct these errors. It is almost impossible to get any customer support--endless phone trees, unreturned emails or voicemail, etc. Negative stars are needed for this company. Do not deal with these crooks!
