      If you're looking for convenience look elsewhere. The new system update makes it impossible to pay loan payments from internal SCU accounts. They're solution is drive to a branch and make the payment. It's been 4 months with the same issue and no answers. Sad because I used to swear by them.

      I have banked with SCU for nearly 25 years. The quality of service in the past 12 months has really gone downhill. I am not sure if they have new management or what, but it is really not good. The wait times to speak with someone are ridiculous, and in general everything is sloppy. I have been waiting for weeks for a debit card for one account, and in the meantime keep receiving cards that I don't want or need. It is so strange. I hope they can return to the days of providing quality baking services.

      Can someone explain a system upgrade that has taken over 6 days and is still not working properly? Whatever happened to usability testing? They deleted my current online banking payees and replaced them with payees from 2013. And Bill Pay people don't work weekends. I wonder if they work at all. Am I angry? I am absolutely livid. They don't even rate 1 star. Dan Clarke, SVP of Member Experience, where are you? Hiding under your desk? Anticipating all those bonuses for a job well done? Shame, shame, and more shame on you. Try listening to the irate calls from members that your inadequately prepared call center agents have to take. Give them the bonus.

      This CU is not as friendly and not hardly as competent as they claim to be. I have been a veteran member for years, since I lived in Germany. I tried to ask for a secured credit card to help me build credit, but they had no option to specify that was what I wanted. Instead of asking me to clarify, they rudely slammed the door in my face and denied the application. I went to Capital One and they were very happy to help me. Also, their website is totally unreliable. You never know when your login will fail due to some mysterious technical problem that has been going on for months and months. Clearly they are using incompetent contractors, but that also means they are also just as incompetent in handling supplier management processes. Finally, if you are a veteran and you are in Europe, you will never get to an SCU branch or ATM. All their branches in Europe are located inside facilities where even lowly DOD contractor janitors can get in, but not veteran CU members. That's pathetic, and no, I don't care if it has to do with any agreement with Germany. That's simply not right.

      I do not know what happened to SCU. But, what a nightmare. Whenever I call the local Exeter #, I get Star and her automated system. I then have to tell her several times I need a live agent and then I’m 76th in the queue. The new chat service is atrocious. Keeps disconnecting me. Very frustrating after waiting on phone and then the chat disappears. Such a disappointment. I personally feel this upgrade has not had the outcome intended. It’s amazing how fast this establishment went downhill.

      Update 4/12/22 They have updated their computer system and have improved their performance. The website came out great and contacting and communicating with them is much better. ....I have been a customer since 1982 and can't understand what their problem is ! They have become the absolute worst. Customer service doesn't even exist anymore.

      Staff is for the most Part nice to the account holder, but experienced some negativity. For instance; the manager didn’t have enough cash on hand, was refused my requested amount. I’ve been a member for over 10 years and think my Time is coming to an end. Going to a bank that appreciates my loyalty. And if your not in the US, the phone personnel is difficult to contact and if it’s after hours personnel are not helpful, and in my experience have been hung up on numerous times. Unfortunately I wouldn’t recommend SCU.

      I went to the branch to see manager.She was not in so I was told they would have her call me to set up a time we could meet. No call ever came to me so that an appt.could not be scheduled . I find myself calling the branch and Corp. phone numbers and get a recording calling itself "Star" that suggests it can help me then tells me I'm number 109 in the cue. That is no help. Customer service here at S C U has become nonexistent, it may be time to find a new place to do banking.

      DO NOT USE SERVICE CREDIT UNION. I have been accused of stealing from my account, neglected, and lied to. They have lied about information on my account and refuse to help me get my money back after a month of back and forth. I lived with a felon who was charged with robbery and I filed a police report against him. They then assumed I gave my card to him. All the representatives have tried to help me and see that the transactions were not valid, but the fraud department manager, Rachel, has repeatedly demeaned me and lied to me. I was never told that my card was used with Apple Pay. I was never told that my account was active in Bakersfields or Florida. I was told it was my fault my card was compromised because I’m disabled. I was accused of lying and stealing because my mom is a joint on my account and transfers rent from my account to hers. They said I never filed a police report even though I gave them the case number, officers name, and police department. Instead of owning up to their prejudices, they said that I was granted the 400$ credit on a “one time” deal.. not because SCU investigates their employee saying that theft was my fault due to my illness. This is now 3.3k that has been stolen from me. I’m supposed to move out in February and go see my uncles I never get to see in September. I was saving up all of my money to do this. Now I’ve not only been robbed of my money but also my opportunities and my safety with the bank. I’ve been with them personally since for ~6 years, my parents for more than a decade. I am looking into legal advise and a different bank. I’ve been put down, wrongfully accused of stealing and fraud, lied to, lied about, and neglected. This is not a bank in CA, but their sister branches (Patelco and School) will also not be getting any of my money as obviously I cannot trust them. “In my opinion “ I do not support establishments that lie and Degrade their members. I offered factual information and evidence that the transactions were not me and I was barked and yelled at and told that I was lying. How could I be in Bakersfield, Sacramento, and Florida at the same time? How could I fill a tank that normally takes 32$ to fill up.. with 62$ worth of gas in one transaction?

      I couldn't say more good things about SCU. I first financed my 2015 HD Road Glide from a dealership in MA. I had never even heard of SCU. Now since then I have bought a 2017 Road Glide and a 2019 Road Glide and all 3 are through Service Credit Union. I have had nothing but amazing experiences with the staff both on the phone and in person at multiple branches. Seacoast Harley Davidson is great about making sure we (the customers) know what a great option SCU is.
