Secured Title of Kansas City Ne Douglas St, Lee's Summit

If ever you have need to use a title company in the Kansas City area DO NOT use Secured Title! I am writing this review in the hope that it will save others from what we experienced. When people go into a closing they expect the closing agent to follow standard best practices. They are not expecting to have to bring a lawyer with them or to have to be on guard in any way. They expect to be able to trust the closing agent to act impartially in the best interest of both buyer and seller. On September 29, 2017, members of my family went in for what they thought would be that kind of experience. Instead, Stacey Evans, the escrow closing agent, put before two inexperienced members of my family an Authorization for the Disbursement of Proceeds (I believe that is the formal name of the document) which gave Secured Title permission to RELEASE THE FUNDS TO THE BUYER IN THE FORM OF LIVE CHECKS TO BE MAILED OUT AT THE BUYER'S DISCRETION! Yes, you read this correctly. If you have not closed on the sale of a property before, let me explain that the standard best practice is for a title company to wire transfer the funds into the account of the seller. I have bought and sold several homes in my adult life and never have I ever even heard of such a thing being done before. I STRONGLY RECOMMEND THAT YOU AND YOUR FAMILY AND FRIENDS NEVER TRUST OR USE SECURED TITLE OF KANSAS CITY, at least not their Lee's Summit branch.

SAY THE HELL AWAY!! This place is HORRENDOUS! Nice people but getting the job done is like pulling teeth and growing more! I can't stress it enough, if you want something done in a timely manner this isnt the place!!
