The only drawback is the advertisements that One Main sends out, which I believe are originated by the company and not the branches, that purportedly pre-approve certain amounts for non-collateral loans, but your experience at the branch may differ greatly and you may have to provide collateral. But that information is unknowable until your application is submitted, and by then your credit has been subjected to a hard inquiry. If the company were forthcoming in the advertisements it sends out concerning secured v. unsecured loans it would boost their reputation and not only that, being completely transparent would benefit customers and branches, and hopefully employees as well, instead of individual employees at the branches taking the brunt of customer dissatisfaction over information that is at best misleading and at worst disingenuous, which is in no way the fault of the people working at branch offices. Perhaps the information concerning the potential for providing collateral is hidden somewhere in the advertisement’s fine print, but no one’s reading that stuff and overall the mail outs themselves just seem to have the effect of cheapening the company which in no way represents the actual one-on-one experience that customers can expect when they visit this location in person.

I gotta say I'm extremely disappointed with my desicion to go with OneMain for debt consolidation. I had two different bills addressed to the same company, my representative didn't check to make sure he was making the proper payment. One of the bills was payed twice and the other not at all, now I'm being held responsible for the 300$ worth of extra charges and late fees, I would recommend using another financial service. You are receiving one star for your rude incompetent employees.

Very poor service! We went to consolidate bills. One was paid twice and one wasn’t paid at all. This was the job of this office. You had one job! You blew it! We are left with $300.00 of late charges and have to wait for the overpaid creditor to send us a check! I would rate you lower than one star but sadly that’s the lowest I can give. I full well expect someone to contact us to correct this terrible situation!!??

Pretty scummy place. One of my clients needed a loan, they applied through Nerd Wallet and received notification from One Main Financial that they were pre-approved. Not only was teh interest rate near usary, but after gathering all teh documentation requested OMF then demanded that the loan be secured (pre approval was for an unsecured loan), then they asked for a co-signer, you can see where it continued to go further and further down hill. They wanted almost 40% interest on a secured loan , add to that the cost of comprehensive insurance on the motor home they wanted for collateral and the equivalent interest rate was over 50% for a 5,000 loan. It would be one thing to have a ridiculous interest rate, but what really annoyed me was the constant adding of security after the pre approval. Loan sharks have better rates and are both more polite and trustworthy.

Shawn was magnificent in working the numbers for me! He was very knowledgeable, polite and quick. Everything was done electronically so I didn't even have to go into the establishment. I highly recommend Shawn if you need anything.
