OneMain Financial Market St, Salem

Every month I paid an additional $75 toward the principle, and yet my balance went UP!!!! HOW?!!! I called every month for nearly a year trying to figure out how this is even possible, and NOBODY could explain why my balance was going UP! I was in finance for 9 years and when I confronted the customer service reps with the fact that their math wasn't adding up, I got the run around....EVERY TIME. Not a single person understood how their interest worked, why I was being charged additional each month, etc. They said that interest was charged at a rate of $6/ day, but I was being charged $270/ month in interest on top of my normal payment requirements.... BAD MATH.

I have had a wonderful experience with this one main branch. I am out in portland and the original location I was working with became unbearable to work with. I switched to this branch in Salem, OR and have received the most incredible service and professionalism. Brandon; the branch manager, has been the living ideology of customer service orientated and foremost a friendly guy to work with. I have had nothing pleasant experiences with this branch, since switching from a Portland, OR location.

Don't do business with OneMain Financial, they approved me for a personal and then declined me last minute because they found out the purpose for the loan. It's my understanding that I can use a personal loan for whatever reason I need. They have terrible customer service as I never got a follow up call like they said they were. Also the interest rates are really high even though I have good credit. All in all, stay away from this establishment.

Onemain has to be one of the worst companies to ever exist, charging everyday an interest fee. Not Monthly but everyday. Stay away. Trying to work on my credit took out $5700 loan did a total of 6 payments I said enough I decided to pay it off completely before getting robbed more! I payed them over $$8347 This means I paid of interest $2647 In 6 months don’t go there. I was trying to make my credit stronger and all I did was make their richer don’t go!

The people that work at this particular branch are simply fantastic!!!...I have had my loan with them for awhile, they are more than willing to work with their customers in any situation , while showing empathy and compassion. If you need to obtain a loan, and would like to get one from people who truly care, then this is where you want to go!!

Gracie is a great help and so very friendly. I like to deal with her only for I feel that she knows me well and is able to get things done quickly. She is very helpful and explains things that are easy to understand.

Great friendly and helpful. They gave me my life back financial time and peace of mind. The lady that helped me totally understood what I was going through and was willing to help. She was there for me and talked to me on a personal level not only on a professional level.

Never had an issue with this branch. Wonderful people. I recently had an issue where I was going through some financial difficulties but was able to work out some things with One Main. However, last month I was due for a payment on the 25th which was when I was supposed to get paid. I had quit a job to return to my previous job for a higher position, so I received my last check on the 23rd from my old job. I made a payment that same day, thinking it would automatically delete my payment due on the 25th. No. You have to call to cancel a scheduled payment. Totally my fault. I checked my account online to see if my second payment was going to cover February. It said “next due payment March 13th.” So I assumed... oh! It will carry over! NO. I then had a charge come out for February and called to ask if my second payment in January, could be carried over to cover my February payment. Which, it was now. But the payment for February was already in pending, which was going to make my balance negative as I didn’t have enough to cover it. So I called to have that refunded to me, which I had to provide proof that they charged me for this month. When I sent my proof in, I had asked if One Main could reimburse me for my overdraft fees as my bank wouldn’t unless it was a bank error, which it wasn’t. No one ever answered my request to reimburse for the overdraft fees. I was charged $35, then had to wait 5 days for the reimbursement check to come, which I was then charged another $5 daily. I received my check and the amount is only what my payment was. Branch is cool, headquarters isn’t.

Thinking about getting a loan here don't. Half or more then half goes to interest itself. Your basically paying two-3 loans with this one trying to pay it off we've paid more then $2800 since 2016 and only 800 and something of that went to the loan itself. I tried to pay a little more off before the due date and they took interest from that payment as well. Eventhough it was before the due date, and a payment had already went through... I'm really upset with this business and after we are don't paying it off. We will not be back for further business, nor will we recommend anyone getting a loan from this place.

I was able to work with some very nice people. They helped make everything so simple and easy.
