Update update update.... So I call the company and the people were very nice and giving me the information to find out why they were on my credit report as a hard inquiry. It was a company that I applied for last month that did the hard inquiry through micro built corporation. So for those of you who have seen this on your credit report does a lot of companies that run through them to pull your credit. This is an update from my last post about this company.

      Response from the owner

This place is a scam. Call your credit bureau to report them. I have no idea who they are in a totally different state pulling a hard credit without my permission. This is a scam to steal you identity.

      Response from the owner

Hello Robert Gutierrez, MicroBilt is a Nationwide Specialty Consumer Reporting Agency and an authorized reseller of Equifax, Experian and TransUnion credit reports, to authorized and credentialed business customers, that must have a “permissible purpose” as defined in the Fair Credit Reporting Act, 15 U.S.C. § 1681 et. seq. (“FCRA”) to access such information. Therefore, it was not MicroBilt that accessed your consumer file but rather one of our customers. Our Consumer Affairs Department can advise who made the inquiry on your consumer report by calling 888.222.7621.

We suggest that you look at TLO or IDICore first. The quality of their data is better. We dropped our MicroBuilt subscription today (I spend about $1,500 a month between TLO and IDICore) because the quality of data wasn't good. If you're buying just one subscription, TLO is probably the best one -- I think that their minimum might be higher there, but it works better. We tried to believe Microbilt offered something, but it just didn't work for any of our 5 employees. I tried, but no one liked it. Said it didn't give them quality data. Microbuilt required a 60 day notice to cancel, so guess I'm paying for 60 more days of a product that isn't working for us. We seem to have run about 50 searches in the past year is my guess -- mainly just trying to get it to give us better information than we get out of their competitors. They did waive this notice because "the data wasn't working for us". Which is true. I left them a review because I thought you should know -- They really are nice folks. Sales department is nice. Service seems good. The product just didn't have value for our use and we got tired of hearing how good it was (because it wasn't) and then paying our $60 monthly minimum. Also, I think one more reason why their data didn't work from me is that they get their data from Equifax and we're in Arizona. Arizona has always been Experian territory, and as such no one really report to Equifax. As such -- maybe we should have been smart enough to know that it wasn't going to work because their source data isn't very useful in Arizona.

Door to door salesman came to my home, pitched his sale, asked for my name/address/phn number. I declined the offered services.Minutes later, after he left, all of the credit agencies that monitor my credit ongoingly, start to send me notifications stating that my credit had been checked by them!! How is that even possible?! I am beyond upset! And to add insult to injury, I look up and my credit was checked again by this place on March 26th! So now it's March 22nd and March 26th.. Unauthorized inquiries pulling my credit score down that I did not give permission for! FRAUD

I will be filing a lawsuit against this company. I've called and they swore up and down that they don't pull credit scores there. Suddenly it dropped off my report. I figured it was over.. 5 months later, it's back with the original date. Don't even bother contacting them. File in small claims court in your hometown. Make them pay to send a lawyer. If enough of us do this, then maybe these consumer abuses will cease!

I got an inquiry alert from Experian Credit Monitoring. I called MicroBilt and they advised they'd completed a credit check on behalf of OnPay. I'm a business owner, OnPay just began doing the payroll for my business, and I am the signer - so they did have my permission to check my credit. My understanding is that MircoBilt is business to business, so if you have done anything at all pertaining to business - that may be why you are seeing the inquiry. Also when I called, they assured me that if it was not a legitimate inquiry, they would remove it. It just so happens it was. Call them, ask to speak to someone in credit services. They only needed my first and last name and the last 4 of my social security number. Everyone I spoke to was well polite and professional. They will tell you who made the request and you can go from there. I hope this is helpful.
