Idara Gibson1Am done with great western bank or first interstate. How do you not post ones transactions for like 4 days straight. Its online banking which is suppose to be easy but its the worst thing ever. I have zero idea how much I have in my account because for 5 days now my transaction details have not been updated Also I have been on hold with your 855 number 2 days in a row. Multiple calls each day...

Brett C1Terrible customer service. Had some possible fraudulent activity on my card in late may/early june so GWB/FIB cancelled my card. No problem right? I'll have a new card in a couple days, right? Nope. After they cancelled the card they told me new cards won't be mailed out till mid june to early july. Called my local branch (which is now 1 location, used to be 2) to get a temporary card but none were available and was told my new card won't arrive until the end of july. What a pain. No card, limited access to a branch to get cash, I have to borrow my wifes card just to get gas. I'd love to dump FIB. Great way to welcome new customers FIB. Branch location: Holdrege, NE 68949

Justin Dannenberg5My experiences at Great Western Bank have always been good. My favorite teller is Annalise. She is always friendly, helpful, and has a big smile on her face. I appreciate that she always goes the extra mile. I highly recommend Great Western.

Kenzie Banzhaf2The tellers have always been extremely pleasant to work with. I cannot however say the same for the bankers whom I’ve had to work with over the last week. I was asked to make 4 trips to the bank and was treated like an inconvenience to their day each time.

Tristan Bantam1I had a direct deposit put in my account on a Friday to check Saturday and see my account is ineligible. So call and check to see what the issue with my account was. Apparently I had made a purchase that had went through when I had insufficient funds but they allowed it through anyway, so they “started to shut down the account”. Apparently I had been -$150.00 and hadn’t revived an email or cellphone call. Note I’ve been in multiple times to correct my contact info because I couldn’t do anything online for the longest time and it should be on their record if they haven’t deleted it. I told them that there should have been a deposit that Friday but they told me they never received one and couldn’t do anything and my bill would be sent to collections if I didn’t present any money within the following days. So I call my employer and confirm with them that they sent the direct deposit early Friday morning. So either it didn’t go through because the status of my account, or they were confirming that it was sent to the proper account. That following Monday I receive a call from the bank confirming that my deposit did come through and that they had kept my account active for me with my consent and took that 150. I told them I would like them to do what they had intially done and that was to close my account and send my bill to collections like they had stated that Saturday. After explaining my concerns and pointing out every detail on why they shouldn’t have opened up my account again just to take that $150.00 from me on thanksgiving weekend.. The clerk said she’d speak to her manager and would let me know as soon as she could. That following day I receive a call from the manager at the bank telling me that they had closed my account and had sent out the remainder of my check via mail and kept the $150.00. Note It’s thanksgiving today and I’m not eating or making anything nice because this bank couldn’t dial a number I had to give them twice. The attitude I had revived that Saturday hearing about my account compared to them actually getting my deposit Monday, which it should of been in Friday’ was two sides of a coin. They were wanting to do anything they could once they realized I actually had money coming in. This is not a friendly personal bank that will try to help you and grow as a relationship business wise. I would honestly recommend a different bank. And to do this to someone on thanksgiving week.. shame on Great Western.

Shanna Gillming4I had banked here for the last 20 years or so, through several name changes that is. I had several accounts for different purposes. One of my savings accounts went "dormant", which I was fine with, that is what I wanted to happen. It's a SAVINGS account. I was SAVING it. Bad thing is that they charged me $10 per month for the account to be in dormant status. I told them I understood why the account would be put into dormant status, but why did they have to charge me $10 a month to do it. The manager's explanation was to prevent fraud on the dormant account. FRAUD!? Fraud is taking $50 of MY money out of MY savings account. Apparently Great Western Bank isn't capable of protecting my savings account from fraud without charging me $10 a month to do it. Also apparently, my 20+ years of business meant nothing to them because they lost my business. Update: Great Western Bank's new branch manager reached out to me and kindly refunded the $50 of late fees. I appreciated that. Unfortunately, I had already switched banks.

Andrew Prochaska5All the tellers are friendly and the home loan department is very knowledgeable and helpful. We have banked here for years and even closed accounts elsewhere to consolidate things here. Also, they have ATM and bank locations all throughout the state for easy access.
