This bank doesn’t allow to invest in just about anything, and limits your ability to make money with their backwards terrible logic. Don’t bother wasting your time with them, not only has my credit info been stolen multiple times, but they also block your transactions when you go anywhere out of the area with no warning. Like I said on top of that they don’t allow investing on mobile apps, and they’re clearly not interested in their customers being able to make money. I will be closing my accounts for this reason, and you should too! No bank should be telling their customers they can’t invest in stocks or crypto. Absolutely pathetic

A Four-star rating. benefit of the doubt issue instead of a Three-Star rating- I have been a member for 30 years. I have watched the credit union grow, been through the growing pains, been through the financial ups and downs, and we are here today. Commonwealth Credit Union is now closer to a big bank than a community credit union. The issue is found in the mistakes made by personnel and in the decisions made at the corporate level. Two recent examples; upon receiving my new debit card several weeks ago, I had informed the representative I would be traveling off-and 0n for the next month. He wrote down the dates of the travel with the stated intent that the credit union would be alerted for those dates. Huge mistake, both my debit and ATM cards were blocked on the first travel date-a fraud alert. Several phone calls and a lengthy ride to find a credit union "on the network" in order to obtain cash. Totally unnecessary inconvenience! The debit card--an unnecessary card. ATM cards had a maximum or $300 per day. A corporate decision replaced that with $200 per day and a requirement to have a debit card if more was needed. So, the first example need not have happened if the original limits were in place. I do not recall being asked my opinion, as a member, about the changes. Did I miss something? Yes, I have multiple accounts with Commonwealth and the credit union is linked in several ways to online accounts. Untangling the ties will be burdensome, but the prospect of doing so seems increasingly attractive.

      Response from the owner

Ed, We appreciate your membership. Keeping our member information as safe as possible is one of our top priorities, especially when traveling. We appreciate that you took the time to alert us about your travel plans. Unfortunately, it sounds like we were not successful in making your travel easier and more convenient. Please accept our sincere apologies for that. Please note that for security reasons, we did make some changes to our ATM card limits towards the end of 2018—we did send communications to members notifying them of these changes, including the Point of Sale transaction limits. We would encourage you to utilize our debit card as it is more secure than an ATM card. Hopefully you will find comfort in knowing that we had our members’ best interest in mind when the ATM card changes were made. Thank you, Briana Marketing Coordinator

Great staff and I love belonging to a "bank" that is part of the community! The lines are usually very long however, please plan accordingly.
