Best Collateral S Norfolk St, San Mateo

I recently visited Best Collateral in search of wedding rings. Michael and Norma were extremely helpful, not only did they show me their sets, but they took the time to tell me the quality of each ring and the price differences. This is the first time I make a jewelry purchase there and I have to say, I am very satisfy with my experience with them. The rings, the price, but most of all their customer service and flexibility to work with my budget as well. I will definitely come back to make future purchases. Thank you Michael and Norma

The last couple of months I have been looking for a consistent, reliable and trustworthy pawn shop. I tried a few in San Francisco and got ripped off a few times. I had to find another shop, so searched for other places online and the Best Collateral, San Mateo branch, caught my eye. As soon as I walked in I was welcomed and greeted by their employee Mike. He immediately offered to help and answer any questions I had. I mentioned that I am new to the whole pawn shop experience, and I am in need of some cash ASAP. He and 2 other employees, I believe their names were Norma and Brian, informed me about the Pawn Loan option, which was relieving knowing that I was able to get back my item. All 3 were helpful answering any question I had. After I showed Mike my MacBook Pro he offered me a very great deal and provided great customer service. This was a much better experience than I had with other shops. I would highly recommend this place to anyone. Ask for Mike, Brian or Norma - Thank you again!!

I have done business with them twice. The first time I went, I needed a small loan on a computer. The first person to greet me was Norma. She was with another customer, but she took a moment to look up at me and let me know that she would help me as soon as she finished. I really appreciate efforts like that because it's not common these days. After a brief wait, she assisted me with my transaction and everything went smooth. I only needed that loan for a few days until payday, so I returned to retrieve my computer, and that's when I met Michael, the supervisor. He was very efficient and he invited me to return whenever I needed, which again I really appreciated. Some time later I got into another bind and needed a bigger loan. I packed everything of value and took it in to get a loan. When I walked in Norma was at the front, and she greeted me like I was a longtime no see family member. That was great because, I was anxious about getting the money I desperately needed. After chatting for a minute, Norma ran the numbers, and to my disappointment my items had depreciated much more than I had expected. But Norma did not rush me out of the store. She seemed more concerned about my issue than I was. Again, you just don't find many people dedicated to service like that these days. So she decided to go plead my case with Michael, the supervisor who I remembered from last time. He did everything he could do to bring the loan amount up, but there was not much he could do because after all, they are running a business. Nonetheless, I asked to speak to him and make one final plea, because I really needed this loan. He generously came out of his office and listened patiently to what I had to say. He said he would do everything he could. He went and talked to Norma, and she worked a literal miracle for me, and with his approval, they offered me the cash that I needed. And for the record, they saved me from being evicted the very next day. I assured them that I will be paying the loan off, and that I had a record of doing just that because I had been getting loans from their company for some years and I always pay it off. But still they did not have to go out of their way to help me the way they did. They would have been well within their rights to say 'take it or leave it' the way I have experienced at other shops. I just want to publicly thank those folks! And I would absolutely recommend people visit this location if you are in need of loans, and/or if you want to find a good deal on a nice product because they have a pretty nice selection.

I have never experienced better transactions in any retail environment, then I have with a particular Salesman Named Mike at Best Collateral in San Mateo. Not only does he treat me with the utmost respect, but he has given me the best deal possible under any circumstances. I therefore be a loyal customer to this store and Michael himself for the foreseeable future.

I had been looking for a camera that I really wanted, I saw their listing and they responded to me very promptly. Mind you, the asking price was already decent, but they still managed to give me a discount when I got there. The place was very clean, everybody there was so friendly and accommodating. Mike is the best, he helped me through the whole transaction. Very friendly and the process was a breeze and the best part is he gave me an awesome price. Definitely going back when I see something I want at their store. Thanks Mike!!

Great costumer service, employees are very personable and easy going. Mike helped me out. His customer service is one of the best that I’ve experienced and Mike gave me a great deal on my purchase. I plan on going back. I recommend you check out this place, good family vibes and no pressure from staff.

My experience here at Best Collateral is always incredibly positive and business is handled efficiently. Both Norma and Brian (who work there) are very knowledgeable and friendly with their service. Its especially useful that Norma can speak both spanish and english when answering questions. Would recommend my business to this Location.

These folks are the best. I went in to try to sell a gun and a motorcycle but they don’t take guns or title loans at this location. I ended up buying a skateboard and some camping equipment and was able to sell my grandkids’ old bike that he has outgrown.. time to buy him a new one. Mike gave me good deals on the bike purchase as well as my own purchases. and some good conversation too, I like to talk. Seems like they have stayed open during the entire pandemic so they are here to help out the community if you need a loan or a great deal on whatever you’re in the market for. They’ve got everything from video games and TVs to power tools and leaf blowers to skateboards and designer sunglasses. They also have a big jewelry section but I don’t have too much interest in that kinda stuff. Anyway I’ll definitely be back to see Mike and Norma. They gave me Outstanding customer service and were very patient with an old guy like me. My grandson helped me author this review.
