In total, this latest refinance was the most amazing mortgage experience of my life. I have worked with Ben Gecy, the principal of Beaufort Lending, for more than 10 years, and this is my fourth experience with him. As a service disabled veteran, I know that I am entitled to some very special opportunities, but this one was off the chart. Just to quote some numbers -- went from a 30 yr fixed 3.25% APR VA loan (26 yrs left) to a 15 yr 2.25% (not a misprint) APR VA loan whereby I saved approximately $170,000 in interest over the former. This guy will bend over backwards for your business, veteran or not. He is fair, honest, straight-forward, very knowledgeable, and calls it like it is. I can't say enough good things about him. After re-figuring it was actually $208,000 between the 30 yr and the 15 yr we upgraded to. Also the loan rate of 2.25% had no points, and I paid for closing only daily interest since I mad my last payment and for one year's flood insurance which had to go into escrow for the new loan.
