      Not a very straight forward company. I've called several times trying to get an updated copy of my insurance policy for 3 years and still haven't received it. When my father was in the hospital, it was said he didn't have long and the company still would still be an updated copy of his as well. They have very poor communication and lie every time they say they mailed something out. The only thing they main out is the bill. Everything else is just lies. I even asked if it was a legitimate company once because they never send what I ask for even though they tell me it's coming. There are several other companies to go with for your life insurance needs, Assurant is not one of them. Please go elsewhere. Don't let the excellent customer service fool you. Because that's the only thing they have going for them. They lie with a smile and politeness.

      If I could give a lower score I would in a minute. Bought their extended warranty through Nebraska Furniture Mart when we purchased our appliances. The refrigerator started having problems in July 2020. Fan went out and took 2-3 weeks to repair. Not ideal since it was our refrigerator. It went out again in September. Same vendor was contacted. First technician did not show. They did not call to let us know he wasn't coming so we waited all afternoon for nothing. When I called to reschedule, they said it would be several days before someone could come out. After escalating to the owner, another technician was sent. Different problem and of course parts had to be ordered. A week and half later parts are in and technician scheduled. Again a no show! Best they could do was schedule for a week out. Finally, it was the day the technician was supposed to arrive. He did but was 1.5 hours after his 5 hour window! In the meantime, the ice maker stopped working. I called Assurant to file a claim and ask for a different repair company. They said I would have to wait 30 days before they can reassign another vendor because of their agreement with the service providers. What?! It is not the customers fault if the provider is bad. Can't believe they won't send another company. So much for customer service.

      I have called 4 or 5 times to have change of ownership forms mailed for a policy my mother got on me when I was a child. They said they mailed them the 9th of July and its thr 30th and I still dont have them.

      I was with my mom when she paid $6,000 to pre-pay her funeral expenses. When she died they wouldn't pay anything without the policy number, which I couldn't find. Even tho I had the date she bought it, her social security number and power of attorney. They should get minus five stars!!!

      I purchased a "service plan" for my cell phone that was peddled to me as "insurance'. After the purchase date, the terms of coverage and deductible were changed by Assurant without warning, and the premium was changed without warning. This bait and switch tactic was perpetrated for something as inconsequential as a cell phone, let alone life or health insurance. This company is representative of the worst bottom-feeding, predatory insurance cons that are running rampant in today's society. I will not ever purchase anything that is remotely attached to this company, and would recommend to other customers that they should consider a home administered ice-pick lobotomy before purchasing anything from them either. It will certainly feel more fulfilling in the long run.

      All I asked for is a letter for my 87 father stating in a letter what his death benefits were by letter. Send it to my father's address. ABSOLUTELY NO HELP. I have to got to the nursing home and have my father essentially grunt on the phone for them to send me the letter to send to Medicaid. Ridiculous

      Cancel policy! You people screwed up mine and my husbands accts He lost his due to someone NOT READING MY CHECKS! I PUT BOTH AMOUNTS ON ONE CHECK! ALSO SEPARETE AMTS. PLUS NAMES AND AMTS. IT WAS ALL PUT ON MY ACCT. NOTHING ON HIS! I CALL THIS STUPIIDITY SO CANCEL
