I recently switched to this credit union from another, much-larger one in town. I was tired of being assessed high fees for the slightest errors. I also liked the idea of having an interest-bearing checking account. When I had a question about how to qualify for the dividend, I warily contacted a customer service agent, expecting, well, you know how those calls usually go. To my pleasant surprise, Matthew was great to chat with. Right from the get-go, he was very personable. He was patient with my questions and used terms I could understand. He stuck with me until I got it. Give him a raise. He's definitely in the right department.

Apparently my account has been screwed up since the second month I’ve had it. I didn’t find this out until almost 4 years later when there was a discrepancy on my credit report. After several phones calls (no response) and 3 different story’s I’m still in the same place. When I asked for some better communication I was basically told it is not there responsibility and it is mine. But yet I still have no online banking , no statements or letter in almost 4 years. We also have to make payments in person. I ask why nothing was said when we have been there multiple times I was given the answer that the tellers can’t see my account information and again it’s my responsibility. Don’t wast your time or money bank with someone else. If I could I would give them a zero.

They don't care about helping you. Missed a payment reported to the bureau and 100 pts off my credit. Called the president of the bank he definitely didn't care to help and asked them to send a letter to the bureau on a one-time exception so the negative remark will be removed. Pretty much said you on your own I won't help you. The key to business is to never tell a client no, especially in the financial business your number one priority should be to help and educate your clients and do everything you can to help them. Legal action has been taken because I discovered they granted another member the same request. Rule of thumb your never above anyone or to high for actions be taken.

Don't bank here. My wife banked there 17 years. She opened a debit card for our daughter which they rigged up incorrectly so it resulted in a $5 fee every transaction. We never had to worry about such things and now they said it's our fault for THEIR MISTAKE and they keep the fees while they cite a 60-day to contest rule. We NEVER had to be on guard like this before to be sure we weren't being robbed by bank fees as a result of the bank's mistake. Every response from the teller and manager were about something my wife should have done when it was THEIR mistake in the first place. WRONG answer guys.

Customer since 1997 great place. Employees remember the guest by name. The service that is available for guest is better then other banks. The employees have been working for years. New hires are very well trained and they don't hire many people I've seen tellers get promoted and moved to other locations that is great to see. Just can't wait for coffee to be available.

We are not officially affiliated with Northern Skies FCU in any way however as a business owner and customer for over 10 years, I highly Recommend NSFCU. They will look at each consumer loan based its own merits. If there was a quick track to have a low apr on a consumer loan, give NSFCU a shot- you may be more deserving of that low apr than other credit unions may lead on to.

I have been with this bank for many years. They have great customer service. I ended up getting vehicle loan with Denali FCU since they offered lower interest rate. Big mistake! I made advance payments. They recently had a system switch where showed next payment January 2020 then changed to delinquent recently and in collections! No warning at all. I rarely log on since I don’t use account for anything else and no payment due for a while. Supervisor Jolene Mann accused I didn’t make payments even after I said I have proof and a letter from them showing I made those payments. She was extremely rude. That is where Diana from Northern Skies helped. I called Northern Skies right after the phone call with Denali. Left message and less than a couple hours later Diana calls back. Explained what happened and she was willing to meet us in 1 hour! 1 hour before closing. Not only that, they brought the check to pay off Denali that evening when it was 5:45pm and they close at 6pm. Now that is customer service!

I have been a member for several years, and got a fraudulent card alert in early March. I appreciated the call as it was a legitimate fraudulent purchase. I had my card suspended and requested a new card. I told the individual I spoke on the phone that I would not be at the address listed on the account and gave them another address to send the card to. It is now the end of March, I've had no access to my account for almost a month and call them back to day to see what the hold up was with the card. It turns out they never sent it. The individual that took my phone call said, "it just hit my desk today, we are shipping it to xxx address". I informed this individual that this was not correct and that I needed it sent to an address where I was currently living. They told me it was just going to be sent to the account address and that's that. I have had generally positive experiences with Northern Skies and their interest rate can't be beat. But if you have no access to your account; can't go shopping, can't pay bills, can't go out to eat what is the point. Very frustrated and dissatisfied. BTW, they estimated 7-10 business days for the card from today for the shipping, won't change the address they are sending it to, and then I have to wait for the mail forward to send it to my current address. Thanks Northern Skies.

I've been with this Credit Union since 1975 (RAAFCU) I e watched it grow from a tiny little business into a competitive and competent financial institution over the last 40 years. They are stable and still friendly. This is my forever banking home. I may not know some of the newer folks because I don't have to go in to do business as often anymore but if I have a question or problem I can always get answers and help. I recently opened an account. Great customer service, clean facility, and friendly associates. Couldn’t seem to get a simple document notarized by Kelsey Hamman, although I had 3 forms of ID.
