Larry Page4Great Local Credit Union. Has gone down hill a little bit over the decades, from what I would say was the best possible banking experience to a good banking experience. Still one of the best credit unions/banks around and has good customer service. I have personal and business accounts with them. I call them often to request different banking documents, and Inquire about different financial options. When I call them for service I rarely wait on hold long, sometimes not at all and service is typically prompt. One place they'd certainly lack is the home loan department. The lead time for scheduling to sit down with one of their mortgage officers is too long and downright discouraging. This is part of the reason we went with a different option for our mortgage. Overall I do feel like a valued member. Overall a great local credit union. I do recommend.

Dillon Delano5I just recently signed on for my first mortgage loan with NEFCU. Being a first time buyer they made the process very seamless and it was a pleasure working with them. With so much information to navigate through, and plenty of questions, they were always there to point me in the right direction. I would recommend their services and their loan programs, especially the ones catered to first time home buyers, to anyone who is in pursuit of purchasing a new home!

Christopher1We were recommended to NEFCU. The First experience was poor customer service. They accidentally pulled our credit twice so our credit took a hit. They admitted fault and took the necessary steps with the credit bureaus after persistent communication. They have now stated they are too busy in Chittenden County to complete our home loan for a $550k home (under contract) with 45 days notice. I am kinda speechless. We are going to pull out our cash, close our accounts and stop with NEFCU.

Steven Ashworth1Used to be a good local Credit Union. Like everyone else they have turned to a profit motive(model). I’ll leave it at that. Plenty of other options out there. And Online banking is definitely starting to look like a better and better option. Some bad attitudes on staff also. Probably because NEFCU doesn’t pay much. You get what you pay for.

When we were first exploring and comparing different mortgage options we met with Annie and felt like she explained their options and programs really clearly, and in a way that was easy to understand as first-time homebuyers.
