This is the absolute worse experience that I have had with a mortgage lender. I provided every piece of information that was requested and each time the Loan Officer came back with well I need this and I need that. I was not informed of these requirements at any time during my consultation with the loan officer. The loan officer will not return phone calls or email now although I did receive one email saying the loan had been approved but then they came back and wanted more documents. Now Mariner Finance has taken $450 out of my checking account for a home appraisal that I was told that I would not pay for. I have not received any documentation saying that the loan did not go through after all by email, snail mail or by a phone call from the loan officer. This is the most unprofessional establishment that I have ever dealt with. I will be writing an adverse write up on the better business website also. It is unbelievable that a mortgage lender can stay in business when they treat their customers in this fashion.

I will never recommend this place to anyone that needs any type of loan. For every dollar I received for my loan I have paid them back 2 dollars. After I realized what I had signed and that they had flat out lied to me it was nothing I could do to change it. They never told me I would be charged 1.80 a day for the loan plus the interest and my loan was supposed to be paid off in 3 years. Guess what thats 1971.00 dollars in daily interest that doesn’t include the regular interest that I have paid in three years and I’m still paying on the loan!!!! I have 1 more year to pay on this loan. And believe it or not I have only paid 700 toward the principal on my loan. My pay off is still 1800 and I’ve paid them 3500 dollars on the loan. 300 more than what they told me I would have to pay when I signed the contract. I made a payment today there was 3 more people in the off complaining about the same thing and the employees and managers do not care that they are robbing people because you didn’t ask the right questions before you signed the loan. Scammers, this company prey on those in need and put you in a worse position than you already were in. It’s a shame. Don’t use them. I couldn’t work for a company that’s not truthful to its consumers. They hurt me more than they helped me.

I used this company for a home efficiency loan. Never again. They are in the dark ages. Took 3 calls to get to customer service b/c my log in credentials were not working. When Tech Support asked me what browser I was using, I told them Firefox--which they said was it or miss with their system and I should use Internet Explorer. This was an issue companies were having 5-10 years ago which tells name how ancient their system is. Also told if I paid off my loan on line there would be a service charge whereas if I did it over the phone using my debit card there would be no service charge. Their customer service reps are very nice but don't seem knowledgeable--probably poor training. Then there is the matter of them not recording my SSN correctly and I've been trying for the past 4 months--still not fixed.
