They were great at first but when I had an issue with my bank account they decided to take me to court. I had a perfect payment history prior to this and that didn't matter in the least. I sent in a couple of money orders and when they didn't call I assumed they had received them. I found out they didn't when they had someone serve me papers. I contact them immediately to discuss the issue and they made it seem like they would work with me. I offered to make double payments for the remainder of the loan but they refused. I sent a letter of dispute to them and the court and was told we would have a mediator come and help us work it out. The court and universal lenders decided to not accept my letter of dispute and when ahead with the court date without me there and are going to start garnishing my wages. While the folks were pleasant and did their job when I sent a paper I thought was the correct one and then later sent the actual paper, I was never told that the first one I sent wasn't the right one and it ended up costing us more money than anticipated. A simple email saying it wasn't the right paper would have made the experience a bit less annoying.”
