I have only kept it open this long so I would have a brick and mortar local bank if I needed one. I stopped using it as my primary a few years ago and use Navy Federal, USAA, and Capital One instead. I did keep a couple of autopay bills with DB to keep the account alive. But they are so technologically behind I even cancelled my last autopay bill earlier this summer because their website never works and I couldn't keep track of balances, and you literally have to call them to do the most un-secure password reset you'll ever do in your life. A few days ago I had a missed call from them. No voicemail. Yesterday I received a letter. Apparently the autopay I cancelled this summer was still being pulled out. It was for $10/month. They let it go on for several months and slapped me with so many fees I owed $160. And yet no one told me. I went into the branch and the rep was like "you get a monthly statement" yeah, ok, I DONT USE THIS BANK, if I'm going negative why do you wait months to actually call me? To collect fees. Because that's the only way horrible banks like this that can't compete in the digital age stay alive. Terrible customer service, 20th century technology, and shady business practices are why this long standing member finally closed her account after over a decade. Highly do not recommend.”

My bank started charging me $2 for printed, mailed statements which had been free when they said they were now First Interstate last February. First interstate employee last winter told me the only way to avoid this was to go to their website and register for online e-statements. First Interstate employee yesterday that I talked to in person said that they weren't actually the bank till this May and that the cost of the statements I've been having charged to my account for the last 4 or 5 months wasn't their fault because I am eligible for free mailed statements. Also they sent out a brochure that talked about the changes and totally neglected to mention what to do about direct deposits, just about online bill pay. I called and spent over 40 minutes on hold, someone finally answered and then disconnected the phone call. I had to go to the downtown main office and talk to someone in person about this. I also have over 3 1/2 boxes of checks that I bought last fall that are going to become useless as of December. I'd just ordered new checks, enough to easily last decades since I rarely write them anymore, and I had enough spare money to put in a large order for once. And now I have to start over. Their westside branch is far more inconvenient than the one that was in Family Fare, and to get home I have to turn across two lanes of traffic going the opposite way no matter which exit I use. I liked Great Western Bank which they bought out. I am already unhappy enough with First Interstate that I am seriously considering closing my account and finding a different place to bank with.”

Zero customer service Zero information from her She seemed upset to even attend to me and acted like she was doing me a favor to open an account there. Zero smile from her She really needs to be taken to the back office. Even when I asked for information on the different types of checking account available, she was very reluctant to hand over the paper containing information for me to make a chioce until the other teller beside her desk handed it to her to pass on to me. I felt so uncomfortable so much that I quit the bank opening process half way and left because I was too irritated with her attitude. Her facial expression looked like she didn't want to attend to me. STAY AWAY FROM KASSIDEE ESPECIALLY IF YOU'RE A NON WHITE CUSTOMER OR POTENTIAL CUSTOMER.”
