If you think as a credit union they'll treat you more fairly than a big bank you may be disappointed. Don't assume you'll get a better mortgage rate or their online banking has the same functionality/controls you may be accustomed. For example, they don't offer simple things like auto-draft protection. I was charged two overdraft fees, and even though I corrected immediately, had plenty in my WCU saving account, and it was the first time, they agreed to reimburse just one of them.
