  “Went into the bank at roughly 4:30 on Wednesday. We told the woman at the counter we were there to open a checking account. She told us to have a seat and someone would be right with us. We only saw 2 other workers in the lobby and the one gentleman said he would be right with us. We walked out of the bank at 5:00 because they were closed. Not one other person said a single word to us. 4 people sat in a cubicle and socialized for 30mins laughing and joking. Horrible customer service. Maybe a blessing for us I guess. We just moved here and wanted to transfer our entire retirement to this bank. Guess we found out ahead of time what we were in for.”

The branch manager Jason was incredibly friendly and has me come right over to help. The banker Janet was wonderful to work with. Such an incredibly freaking experience in comparison. Highly recommend anyone looking for banking to come here!”

  “For the most part I like Trustco Bank, but I have one major issue with them, and that is why I take 3 stars off this review. The people inside the bank are extremely friendly and helpful. As a customer I have always been treated with the utmost respect. They also have the lowest minimum money needed to avoid a monthly service charge. These are the good parts of this bank. My major issue is with the online and mobile banking. They are absolutely HORRIBLE, and they don't work. The mobile App on both Android and iOS look like a child made them 10 years ago. Mobile deposit doesn't work... EVER! This is a huge inconvenience since I travel extensively, and I often need to make deposits when I am out of town. Since there are very few branches in Fl, let alone anywhere else I travel, this means I have to wait to get home, often a month later, to make my deposits. I have called customer service in NY about this many times, and they are always apologetic, however, the apology is empty, as it doesn't fix the problem. The only solution is to mail my checks to the bank, which would take over a week, and could mean the check getting lost in the mail. No thanks... I left a small amount of money in my account, and had to move my account to another bank that offers a better mobile banking experience.”

  “Just applied for a checking account for the 3% APY. I opted out of overdraft in the application, so no credit being extended in any way shape or form that I’m aware of. They did a hard pull. Why?!?! I’m leaving cash with you not borrowing it LMCU. Check my checking history through a Chex report like every other sensible institution. I’ve opened plenty of checking accounts and never experienced a hard pull. This was completely unnecessary and makes the bank look incompetent. I mean why would you kick a brand new customer in the shin the first time you meet them? Steer clear of this institution.”
