Overall customer service is worse than any big corporate bank. Which you would think would be different because they’re a credit union. I recently transferred all of my automatic payments and direct deposit to chase. I forgot my gym membership. It overdrew my account which is fine I called the gym and corrected my billing info. However I received a call from Red Rocks asking when I was going to bring my account to a positive balance? Like when I come to close my account this week? I work a 9-5 too? Just think it’s crazy they take the time out of their day and are getting paid to make calls to customers to ask when they’re going to bring their account balance positive, when they don’t have atms or branches everywhere? Have already planned to close the account. Just don’t recommend this credit union. I’d try a different one or chase is my favorite.

Glen Weaver is by far one of the best in the business. As someone young who is beginning their credit, and as someone who just experienced their first refinancing, I felt like I couldn't have been helped more than I was! He guided me step by step through everything, guaranteeing me a lower APR than what I had started with. He kept in touch with me on every update while also communicating what I needed on my end to further the process. I'm not only happier with my decision to go through this credit union, but I've saved SO much money in doing so, all thanks to Glen! If you ever need to refinance, there's no one better to do it than him!

Unfortunately, I have seen Red Rocks go down hill in that past few years after banking with them for over 10. You can tell their operations are in shambles and that there are not the correct steps being taken to correct this. I would not suggest keeping any money here as they will charge you more fees than any other financial institution. This bank went so far as to continue to take money from my account and charge additional fees (in an absurd amount) even after I closed the account. Their operations are absolutely unethical. I have since gone to Navy Federal with no issues. I would suggest looking elsewhere for your banking needs.

      Response from the owner

Hi Alyssa, I saw your review on our Town Center Location and Yelp and have responded to those as well. Thank you for taking the time to provide us with feedback. I understand dealing with account fees can be a frustrating situation and I’m sorry you were disappointed with your experience. I’ve taken the time to research this and, l found that our management team reversed some of these fees as a courtesy to you back when you originally called. If you have further questions about your closed account or feel we can do more to help, please reach out to us at [email protected]. Sincerely, Cristina M. Red Rocks Credit Union

I heard about this place on the radio and decided to apply for a loan. At first, I heard from them everyday with updates and what my next steps were. I sent all my information in and it's now been over a month. I've called, emailed, reached out to customer support, and he ignored every email, never returned my call and customer support would say they would get in touch with him. Today I tried twice to call him and finally reached him. He asked if he could call me back in 5 minutes and never called me back. Very poor customer service. All I wanted was an update and I couldn't even get that. Unfortunately I will be looking for a different bank to help me out.

3rd party ATM machine ate my debt card…four hours from home (in Snowmass). Randi Anderson and Austin BENT OVER BACKWARDS to make sure I wasn’t stuck without resources. (They saved me from driving 4 hours each way to get a new card.) They worked on a solution WITHOUT ME EVEN KNOWING. Rock. Stars. If more people treated each other the way they treated me the world would be a much better place. Thanks again Randi and Austin! All the best, Jerry Herships Red Rocks customer

This credit union did system changes that allowed people other than me, that had no business, access to all of my accounts. They are NOT at all helpful in trying to resolve this situation that has caused me a lot of person harm. They are even changing the rules on what I was told in 2017 relative to my husbands death and causing me more problems. I have been a member since 1985 and will advise anyone thinking about joining to go elsewhere.

      Response from the owner

Hi Kathy, Thank you for taking the time to leave us a review. I hear your frustration with some of the new system upgrades and am sorry to hear you feel our team was not initially helpful. To clarify, the system upgrades now allow all account holders, whether primary or joint on a membership, to see accounts they own via online banking. I understand that you’ve spoken to a member of our management team and we have found a solution you are happy with. If you have any other questions please give our member support team a call at 303-471-7625. Thank you for your membership and I hope you have a great day. Sincerely, Cristina M., Red Rocks Credit Union

Very very disappointed. I have NEVER missed a car payment, and I called asking for a deferment this month because of an unexpected medical bill, and they refused to help me. I will be moving my car loan ASAP. Credit unions have a pretty good reputation of being less greedy than a big corporate bank... but not this one. Would highly MOT recommend. Very greedy and unwilling to help.

      Response from the owner

Hi Kellsie, Thank you for taking the time to leave us a review. We understand that life’s journey has ups and downs and we take pride in serving our members thorough it all; I am sorry to hear that was not your experience this time. We value your membership and want to help you through this. A member of our team has reached out to you to facilitate your request for deferring a payment. Sincerely, Cristina Martinez, Red Rocks Credit Union

My wife has several accounts with this bank and we also had 3 vehicles and a signature loan. We have been members for 7 years. I am not sure what is going on but over the past 2 years it's going down hill, fast! My first complaint is the selling or "sharing" of personal information. We paid off one of our vehicles in Feb of 2020 exactly 6 months later we are getting bombarded with phone calls about buying an extended warranty for the vehicle that was paid off. I wrote this off as kind of a fluke. well.. Paid off a second vehicle at the end of June beginning of July in 2020, i bet you can guess what is happening now. The phone calls have started again 3 a day selling extended warranty coverage for the vehicle that was paid off in June/July. Coincidence? I do not think so. One of our vehicle loan has extenuating circumstances surrounding the vehicle and the requirement for insurance. I had come to an agreement with the person I had spoken to regarding the coverage needed on the car. I supplied that coverage and I was told that there would be "memos" or "notes" as to the bank adding insurance. I was told these would have a 0.00 amount. This is exactly what I saw in the bank register. Little did I know that each payment that I made money was being taken from that payment. there was no indication this was being done. Not only was I paying for the additional insurance when I was told I would not be charged I ended up having to pay additional interest on the portion of the balance that didn't get paid because of the reduced payment. They violated the contract that was signed when the loan was taken out by doing this. It states right in the contract that additional fees would need to be paid "in addition to" the original payment amount. When a loan of this type has the balance altered a new payment schedule and payoff date is supposed to be provided to the customer. This never happened either. There is a breakdown of each payment that is made. There are 3 sections "principal", "interest" and "fees" the fees section of every single payment were always 0.00 but when adding the principal and interest together it did not match the amount recorded in the ledger. This has got to be criminal/fraud. We had to add onto our signature loan because of an emergency and we needed to have some additional funds. We were told that this is not a problem. I left my wife to take care of it and she didn't realize with the new loan the interest rate is 14%??!??!?!?!?! This is for an existing customer that has 4 years of perfect payment history with them never missing a single payment for anything. also has what my mortgage broker called a "close to perfect " credit score. When looking up what they offer for interest rates for this type of loan on their website, the interest rate we have does not match what their website states for our credit score, not even close! I know this is the fault of our own but in the past the bank has always done good , we had made a mistake in thinking that we didn't have to worry about them doing things like this. We were wrong. I know there aren't many reviews available on Google for this bank. but for the reviews that are available look at the trend.... few years ago they were getting 5 star reviews. Now not so much. Something changed in this bank and I will tell you it isn't for the good. I used to be able to call and speak with the same person if I was having issues. Now you would be lucky if that person is still employed there from phone call to phone call. We will be changing banks once the loans we have with them are paid in full, < 9 months. between the fraudulent practices, the taking of money from a loan payment with no record of it being taken, and now the selling of personal information to companies that also have bad business practices that are of a criminal nature. I am done. Heed this warning to anyone thinking of doing any business with this bank.
