Paid off a vehicle almost 3 months ago with a certified bank check to help speed up the process. Not only have I not gotten the title, they refuse to file for a duplicate title because its not there problem! I have been in the auto industry for 20 years and have never has such a terrible experience with a payoff and title! I would give zero stars if I could!!!!!

My wife took out a loan from DFCU 3 years ago to buy a car. They have since conducted an audit and apparently don’t have the title. Now they’re making us track down a title, after no due diligence from their end of confirming they actually received it. Terrible customer service and they basically said we need to take out a personal loan if they can’t get it? Calling the BBB. Don’t do business with them. The agent Mark also told us they can’t call the dealership themselves to get it, even when it was their own mess up and poor process. We just called the dealership and asked why didn’t the bank call them to inquire. Clueless.

Got a car loan through direct federal late last year. I sent them two payments by mail because I couldn’t set up my online banking for some reason. In February I got an alert on my credit, that my payment wasn’t received. I tried calling but could never get through especially during the day. I got Covid at the end of February and was sick for several weeks. I finally was able to connect with someone that took my payments but could not set up my online payments. All the while DFCU reported me late. I finally paid them off and went in a different direction not before they ruined my credit. I’m giving them one more chance to fix this before I contact the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau. Worst experience with a bank ever.

We had 20 years of stellar customer service and wonderful experiences with this institution. Our last (and final) experience was so poor that we have closed our accounts and gone elsewhere. I took the time to write an old-fashioned letter (via snail mail) to the Customer Service Manager about our experience, and he did not even have the courtesy to acknowledge receipt of the letter. We went to a physical branch of Digital Federal Credit Union and accomplished in 25 minutes the transaction that Direct couldn't manage in 30 days (and at more favorable terms).

My wife and I have been using DFCU for direct work deposits now for almost 40 years. Every bank and CU has good and bad qualities but I have never had a truly bad experience here. I have a 2nd CU as well but will be transferring out and using DFCU solely. I have had issues at other banks and CUs as well with things like Auto loans it is not uncommon. It is a well run institution, trust is a big deal to me.

You’d be better off burying your money in the woods and trying to find it later. I know it would be faster than actually trying to get your funds out of this bank! It’s 24 hours before you can even speak to someone who can help you with what you need. Oh, and my favorite part is that t to make it easier for you…..someone will randomly call you whenever they get to it. So just wait by your phone for about the next 24 hours for them to call. Someone send them a telegram and let them know about the internet!

I'm updating my original review here, due to further issues in dealing with DCFU. Like many other google reviews listed here, if I could have selected a zero star, I would. I have never had so many headaches in dealing with a bank. Prior to them updating their website, my auto loans were on a auto schedule. Now, they are not and I can't even make a payment from their site. Last month it took over an hour to wait on hold to make a payment over the phone, and then had to follow up with the bank because they never posted it!! Worst bank to have to deal with.. Their customer service is terrible, their website is terrible, having to deal with this bank is terrible. Oh, and I like how they casually sent out a letter in the mail to state that they had server breach and that my information (social security number and account numbers) was compromised and to watch out for any false identity claims... Thanks DCFU!

I have an auto loan out with direct federal union that is on automatic payments. About every 3 months or so they send a letter about missing or late payments. The automatic payment was withdrawn. This has happened 4 times in the past year. I will never do business with them again.

I had the best experience transferring over to Direct Federal. A special thank you to Brett Levine, who was absolutely amazing and helpful with everything. Brett was very patient and understanding throughout the entire process, which was quick and easy. Going above and beyond, answering any questions I had, as well as, keeping me apprised every step of the way. I could not be happier with my new membership. Again, thank you!

I have been a member of Direct Federal Credit Union for 37 years when they used to be Polaroid Federal Credit Union. They were like family back then and I used to go to Janet Glidden, who got married. Always got great service without a hassle. Always got my car loans from them, except one time, my credit score was low, that's when I knew they weren't family anymore. My score is very good now and I did get a car loan from them, but I miss the family feeling. Wish there was someone there that could have given me advice when my score was low and how and what to do before I apply for another loan. BofA gave me that advice and now my score is almost 800!
